The 2010 Yonex Canada Open is being held right here in our own city, Richmond, BC on July 13-18. The event will be held at Richmond Olympic Oval, and tickets are selilng for as low as $10 each for preliminary matches, and $25 for the finals. VIP passes and weekly passes are also available. BV Canada Day Events
Unfortunately the beach party was cancelled due to bad weather conditions, but our spirits were quickly reignited by the perfect soccer weather later in the day. BV Canada Day Soccer Game was held on a chilly Canada Day afternoon but that did not dim the excitement of the 5-on-5 kick-off at Cambie Secondary. With 2 girls on each team, we saw great sportsmanship and intensity in the matches as the game ended in an overwhelming victory for all-star team consisting of strikers Jason and Tania who joined us on the field for the first time. Newcomer Stanley Lee also fought valiantly with his teammates till the end but was unable to overturn defeat as the other team proved too strong for them. Feel free to join us for all BV Events that will be held all summer long, including the upcoming Paintball event, Fireworks, and Beach parties!
Volunteer's Meeting this Sunday
If anyone would like to volunteer for Badmintology in the upcoming season, please attend the Volunteer's Meeting on Sunday, July 3rd 2pm, at Yumo Badminton Center. We will be holding an introduction/orientation session for our upcoming tournament. See you there!
Smash Fantastic Open 2010
Our much anticipated next tournament, Smash Fantastic Open 2010 is being held on July 30-August 1 at Cambie Secondary School. Mark your calendars for the tournament, more information will be posted very soon!

Intended to play against each other, they soon realize it was more fun demolishing other teams, and so it began...

Twelve teams entered the 1st annual Journey of the Legends Team Championship held at Cambie on May 22-23, 2010 to fight for ultimate team supremacy and bragging rights. In the end, Team Beyond came out on top over Team Baddiholics with a team score of 3-2 with the deciding match falling on the shoulders of Captain Malisa Leung for Team Beyond and her partner Peter Nguyen against Captain Wilson Wong of BDHL and his partner Karen Tse.
