Team Rankings - Race to the Team Championship Important Note: If you have not played in at least two separate Badmintology tournaments registered under your team, you do not qualify, and your rankings will not count towards your team. With 31 teams fighting for 16 spots, the race to qualify for the Team Championship heats up as the last Badmintology tournament of the season approaches April 9-11. To remind you folks, 16 teams will play a 2 day tournament to determine which team reign supreme, all the way to the 16th team. For those familiar with the highschool provincial championships, our tournament will also feature a round robin pool to determine position into the main draw, and a main draw where each team plays on until all placings are determined. To top it all off, we are planning to have a team dinner/banquet, pending further planning. Currently, Baddiholics sits on top of the leaderboard with Team Beyond following close behind. FoH rounds out the top 3 thanks to Emily Cheng's strong singles result. Team 1-Up, The Mildly Attractive (T.Ma), and Pootine are the bottom 3 of the 16 as Team Cambie, FlickD, and Slackers United look to break into the sweet sixteen. The last tournament will very well determine who will be invited! The team tournament will consist of 5 ties - MS, MD, WD, MxD-A, and MxD-B. The minimum team requirement is 2 girls and 3 guys. If your team has the capability, you are welcome to split the team in two and participate as independent teams. The team ranking will be determine by the players in each of the separate teams. Reminder to all teams that uniforms are require as there will be a team photo for each and every team. Lets look organize and together. So come out to BV5- BaddiRoyale at Cambie Secondary and fight for your team!

Baddi Royale Tournament Information:
When: Apr 9-11 2010 Where: Cambie Secondary School, Richmond Events: Singles/Doubles/Mixed Doubles Categories: U19/Open/35+/45+

Hello All!
It’s finally here, the last tournament of our inaugural season! We invite you to join us at Cambie Secondary on April 9-11 (back to where it all started and hopefully with no flooded floors this time!) for Badmintology Vancouver #5 – Baddi Royale. This is our latest and best tournament yet featuring ABCD flights or Double Knockout format depending on draw sizes. There will be plenty of games and chances to win for everyone!
This is your team’s last chance to pad up those rankings for the team tournament. The rankings directly results where your team will slot in our team championship. Also, all team members MUST compete in two of the five tournaments in the season to qualify for this exclusive tournament. Don’t miss out and let your team down!
We will have trophies for winner and runner-ups for all events, as well as our one of a kind winner’s only champion memorabilia T-shirt.
A quick introduction to the tournament format if you are not familiar:
ABCD Flight for draw sizes 16 and up * This format allow all participants to play at least 3 games. The main draw will separate into 4 draws upon completion of each round of play.
First Round of Play * Everyone starts off in the ‘A’ draw, winners of first round stays in A draw * Losers of first round falls to ‘C’ draw
Second Round of Play * ‘A’ draw participants that loses in the second round will fall to the ‘B’ draw * ‘C’ draw participants that loses in this round will fall to ‘D’ draw
Third Round of Play and on * Participants stay in their respective draw, one more lost and you are out.
Double Knockout for draw sizes * As the name suggest, you have two chances to win. After your first lost, you still have the ability to reach the finals through a more complicated route. The undefeated participants in the finals have two chances to win.
Round Robin might be used for draw size of 5 and under.
If you are still not convince, then come for our tournament T-shirt. We will unveil the design soon, so keep visiting. We hope you can join us as we try to make it the biggest Badmintology tournament yet!
Sincerely, Badmintology Vancouver
