After a weekend of sweat and hardwork at Smash Fantastic Open 2010, a total of 100 individuals went home with trophies/medals! Congratulations to all winners, runner-ups and consolation winners, and we hope all participants had lots of smashtastic fun at the tourney.
Special thanks to our newly formed volunteer crew who all picked things up so fast and took care of the draw desk perfectly. Also, a big thanks goes to our sponsor MyJPScion for all the draw-prizes! Congratulations to Brianna Tang on winning the $50 Cactus Club certificate by correctly guessing the number of balloons in the car (there were 93 of them in total)! We will continue to host JPScion draws and events at our tournaments, stay tuned! Till then, enjoy this awesome summer weather.
See you all at the next tournament in the end of September!

I know all of you are eager to know who your opponents are so you can bring out the dumbells and skipping ropes and start training for the tourney. So wait no longer, here they are!

Hey everyone!
Just want to detail some of the activities we are looking to push forward in the next little while. Please come and join us if you can! =)
1.Create a BV - myJPScion tournament T-shirt
We want YOU to help us create the shirt design for our third tournament in November. You can pick the design, the color of the t-shirt, and the print color of the t-shirt. The only criteria? We ask that you integrate the myJPScion logo into the design and that the name of the tournament to have W__ W__ Open in it. (If we don't have a name). Submit your drawings now and we will announce the winner in October!
2. Stencil your racket
Here is your chance to stencil a colorful design on your racket and win $5 off the next tournament, and a chance to win your own custom designed t-shirt of anything you want (Design your own shirt, create a new team shirt, whatever you like!). For every racket we stencil, you get to enter a draw for the $5 coupon to our tournament and the November draw of our custom T shirt contest.

****Also, the design for the tournament Tshirt is here! The winner this time will receive a Black Tee with Orange print while everyone will receive a bright Orange Tee with Aqua print!

Badmintology Vancouver presents: Smash Fantastic Open 2010

The heat wave has arrived so Badmintology would like to invite you and your team (remember to create one this time!) to come indoors for the 1st tournament of our second season – the Smash Fantastic Open at Cambie Secondary School in Richmond! Over the off-season, we have made some changes to our tournaments to reflect upon the feedback you have given us.
But before we mention the changes, we need to announce our exciting partnership with the myJPScion team at Jim Pattison Scion. As a result of their sponsorship, we are providing all participants with the tournament t-shirt regardless of the number of events played. Along with the free t-shirt, we will be creating draws and activities that offer many prizes to our participants. If you have not already done so, please join our Badmintology Vancouver group for more information and check out the myJPScion fan page on Facebook where they are giving out wicked prizes.
Now onto the changes…!
We are introducing a third category, a level lower than Red Shell (former Baddiboomer) to separate the levels even farther. The Green Shell category will be an open category for all ‘beginners' that want to compete but is having a hard time doing so at the Red Shell category. It is recommended for those with no formal training but plays frequently at drop-ins or court rentals. For more info on the classification of the new circuits, please visit our Tournament System page.
Finally, we will be providing 2 RSL Classic birds for all main draws and 2 Hangyu No. 2 birds for consolation for the Blue Shells. The Red/Green shells will be played with Yonex Mavis 300, and a new bird will be provided each game if necessary.
So tell one tell all! We hope to see you there! =) Remember to create your team!
Please pay in advance at Yumo Badminton Centre to avoid the $10 surcharge at the door.
