Badmintology Vancouver 4 – Rings of Celebration saw a return of the champs as previous winners came back to establish their legacy. Hosted at Fraser Heights Secondary in Surrey, attendance was 200+ strong as we ran events from 45+ to U-19. Assisted by the helpers from team SBC and powered by the homemade lunches on sale from the FH school team, BV4 was a gigantic success! Two time winners (BV#1,2) Bryan Yee and Samuel Wadsworth asserted their dominance as they took on BV#3 winners Ken Fung and Jensen Ly and came out victorious with a tight three set battle in 29-All Open MD. In 29A Open MS, we saw a rematch of BV#2 finals between Vincent Teo and Arak Bhokanandh. This time Arak came out on top to claim his first ever Badmintology win. The big winner of the tournament was Malisa Leung as she claimed both the 29A Open WD and Open MxD with partners Daisy Lee and Mike Nguyen. Team FoH got a boost in their ranking points thanks to Emily Cheng as she took the 29-All Open WS. In the Baddiboomers category, opponents in the U-19 WS and WD can breathe a sigh of relief as Jodie Shum (WS, WD), and Karina Shum (WD) must now join 29-All U-19 or Open as they become the first repeated winners in the BB category. Joining them is Terrence Leung (Open MD, MxD) and James Chow (Open MD) who are now only eligible to play in 29 All for the events they have won. For all winners, please see our results page. Checking out the teams’ standings, Baddiholics remains on top with team Beyond, FoH, and MBA holding steady with wins from each team. We welcome the newest formed team, the Happy Lovers – Jensen Ly, Ken Fung, Arthur Chiu, Peter Liang, Waina Ho, and Marissa Chai as they look to shoot up the ranking charts. Join us next time for the finale to our inaugural season as we host Badmintology Vancouver 5 – Baddi Royale at Cambie Secondary on April 9, 10, and 11th. The last tournament before our exclusive team championship! |
